On the Appalachian trail Past Elizabethton going towards Roan MNT. is Laurel Falls: Directions: going East on Hwy 19 towards Roan MNT. turn left on 321. Go 2.8 miles and veer to the right. follow the road up the mnt. for approximately 4.9 mi. then the parking lot will be on your left. It's about a mile (at most) hike. you'll go across a bridge and through a ravine or two then go down the side of the hill on step rocks.

2: Abrums Falls In Bristol: The best one in the Tri-city area that I know of but last time I checked it was posted for no trespassing since too many people were either falling off the falls and dieing or because of vandalism. Too bad It's an AWSOME falls.

3 Elk Park Falls: It's a little bit farther than Laurel Falls. You go on up Roan Mnt. And maybe a mile after you reach the NC line you'll turn to the left where there is a sign directing you towards Elk Park falls. Just follow the road for a few miles and then you'll end up on a rocky road that leads to a parking area then just about a quarter of a mile is the waterfall. This one people jump off the top into the pool of water below.
All of these are nice size falls for this area and well worth checking out!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
